Frequently Asked Questions
Where in the country do you work?
I work all over the UK and I’m based in the North West.
How long have you been photographing theatre and live performance?
I worked in theatre for 20 years before becoming a full time photographer. I’ve been photographing theatre and live performance for the past 18 years.
Having working in theatre as a Stage Manager for a lot of my professional life I like to think I understand the pressures on actors and production staff so I can try NOT to add to that when stepping into a rehearsal room.
I understand theatre and that experience is invaluable when photographing shows I haven’t seen before - anticipating the moment to get the photograph.
What do I get?
I deliver full resolution and web sized digital files of my photography. Depending on the length of the performance I’ll deliver anything from 50-150 photographs, always with a mind on what will be useful to promote the show now and what will be useful in the future to promote the theatre.
How long till I get the photos?
I’m often photographing the final Dress Rehearsal so turnaround times have to be fast in order to get images for social media and reviews.
I get photos across to you by lunch the following day.
Do you photograph rehearsals as well as the performance?
Absolutely - if that’s what you need I do a package to include both.
How are photographs delivered to me?
However suits you. My usual deliver method is through an online gallery (makes it very easy to view) or WeTransfer.
